It is a warm Tuesday morning in the marshlands, and Daffy the Duck has decided he wants to reach his favourite feeding spot directly opposite him on the north bank of the Great River of UNSW.
He paddles perpendicularly into the 270 m wide river at a steady 0.75 m/s, but an eastward current of 0.5 m/s carries him downstream.
After crossing two thirds of the river, Daffy flies the rest of the way at 3.4 m/s, this time aided by a westward wind of 2.4 m/s, until he finally lands directly at his feeding spot.
How long did Daffy’s journey take in total(answer as a single integer, in seconds)?
The contest ended at 8:16 p.m. AEST on Thursday 2nd July. All submissions will be unofficial .
